Accumulator Diaphragms

An essential component of the shock absorbing system of percussion drills

Characteristics

Accumulator diaphragms are an essential component of the shock absorbing system of percussion drills. These drills are used for underground mining operations. Universal Seal’s diaphragms are used in accumulators in which there is oil on one side and nitrogen on the other. Typically, pressures go up to 3,500 P.S.I. and speeds up to 3,000 cycles per minute. Temperatures are normally 40 to 60 degrees Celsius. These conditions make Universal Seal’s thermoset polyurethane an ideal material for this application.
